Wajib belajar merupakan program pemerintah yang sedang gencar digalakkan oleh pemerintah.
Program ini mewajibkan setiap warga negara untuk belajar selama dua belas tahun pada jenjang
sekolah dasar hingga sekolah menengah atas. Namun, tidak semua anak-anak memiliki motivasi
untuk belajar khususnya anak-anak minoritas. Hal ini dikarenakan adanya tuntutan mereka
mencari nafkah untuk membantu orang tuanya dan mencukupi kebutuhannya sendiri. Dengan
demikian, untuk beberapa anak minoritas mencari nafkah lebih penting daripada belajar, sehingga
meskipun sudah ada sekolah yang gratis anak-anak minoritas ini lebih mementingkan mencari
nafkah daripada belajar di sekolah tersebut. Berdasarkan alasan inilah, maka kegiatan pengabdian
kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk memberikan motivasi belajar serta mengarahkan anakanak
minoritas tingkat sekolah dasar melalui pengenalan potensi diri yang dimilikinya. Metode
pelaksanaan kegiatan ini yaitu melalui presentasi dan ceramah yang diselingi dengan interaksi
timbal balik antara siswa dengan narasumber selama 30 menit. Hasil kegiatan pengabdian
masyarakat ini adalah tumbuhnya minat belajar berdasarkan pengenalan potensi diri yang dimiliki
oleh para siswa minoritas tersebut. Kesimpulan dari kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah meningkatnya
kesadaran para siswa-siswi akan pentingnya belajar di sekolah, karena di sekolah tersebut potensi
yang dimilikinya dapat berkembang dan terarah.

Compulsory education is a government program that is being intensively encouraged by the
government. This program requires every citizen to learn for twelve years at the level of primary
school up to high school. However, not all children have the motivation for learning of minority
children in particular. This is because of the demands they make a living to help their parents and
provide for their own needs. Thus, for some minority children earning a living is more important
than learning, so even though there is already a free school for the children of minorities is more
concerned with earning a living than learning in the schools. Based on this reason, then this
community activities aimed at motivating learning and directing minority children elementary
school levels through the introduction of potential. The method of implementing these activities
through presentations and lectures are interspersed with the reciprocal interaction between
students with a resource person for 30 minutes. The result of this community service activity is the
growing interest of learning based on the introduction of potential owned by minority students.
The conclusion of the activities of this devotion is the increased awareness of the students of the
importance of learning in school, because those in school can develop its potential and
directional.
